Patmos (Greece)
I've always heard about the Greek life at US universities but the Greek life on an actual Greek island such as Patmos and Leros is quite different. Someone might expect to have lots pf parties going on but this is not Mykonos (I've been there with my family and my elderly cousins were going out and telling us how fun it was.). These two islands, not far from Turkey's coast are very serene and calm. There is a very nice family owned 'taverna', which is a restaurant by the pier and we became regulars as their fried zucchini turned out to be hit of the holiday. Besides our culinary explorations, we had great fun, surfing and paddling as well.
I was there with my best friends from the school and it was in a a way to say farewell to the middle school years as we had just graduated. This summer was quite nice overall but now we are all in different high schools and our friend groups and many even interests have changed a lot. Probably, this is why although we are still good friends, we cannot meet as much as we did in the past. Still, whenever someone wants to share a good news or needs help with something, we are in touch on our WhatsApp group.
